Creating a low maintenance garden

The owners of this small, new build garden wanted somewhere to relax that was low maintenance and made the most of the sun entering the garden. As you can see in the photo below, the original turf was poor quality and struggled to grow. Due to the layout, the back of the garden was also the most prone to catching the sun, which was largely blocked off due to the shed.

To create more space to relax and make the most of the sun, we built a section of decking in front of shed. The area is large enough for some nice garden furniture without overwhelming the space.

The final job was to remove the turf and replace this with high-quality astroturf. We added a border of sleepers to create a layered effect, making the space appear bigger whilst giving it a sophisticated finish.
